Our accredited Pharmacist can offer you a weight management consultation to assess the suitability of treatment with Semaglutide (Wegovy), Tirzepatide (Mounjaro) or Naltrexone/Bupropion (Contrave) under a standing order. This service is to improve access to weight loss medications for people with diagnosed obesity. Book an appointment here or come in store Mondays, Tuesdays, Wednesdays, Fridays or Saturdays.
To be eligible, the person must:
- Have a BMI ≥30, or ≥27 with 1 or more weight related condition
- Have tried lifestyle measures previously, unsuccessfully but be willing to continue lifestyle modification during therapy
- Be able to attend monthly review
- Be between 18-65 years
- Not be pregnant or breastfeeding, type 1 diabetic, have renal or hepatic impairment, epilepsy, mental health concerns, diabetic retinopathy, uncontrolled high blood pressure or have surgery scheduled within 6 months
- Not have a history of pancreatitis, severe GI disease, heart disease, medullary thyroid carcinoma
- Not be taking certain medicines or other weight loss medications
Treatments are only supplied under the Pharmacist's discretion. Consultations are not funded so incur a charge. In addition, any medication supplied at the consultation is an extra charge to the consultation fee.
This consultation needs to be done in person in the pharmacy.
