Share a Moment of Care

This June, we are excited to sharing moments of care in conjunction with the Reid O'Leary Charitable Trust.  

The concept

$6 helps one child access mental health support for a year, so we have set our sights on sponsoring another 100 Hawkes Bay children in June. Mental health is built through small, everyday moments so we are inviting you to share a moment of care with us. Simply purchase a care bundle, donate $6 at the counter or buy a raffle ticket and you will be supporting one child. 

Every time you support one child, you will receive a heart where you can share a moment of care - something you do to support your mental health, a moment that helped you or an act of kindness you will share this Winter. The hearts will build Ahuriri's moments of care wall.

How you are helping as a VIP member

Every year we honour our most loyal customers in our VIP club. As a thank you for your ongoing support, we have a lovely cosy pair of socks as a gift for you. To warm your heart as well as your feet, we will also donate $6 per person to the Reid O'Leary Charitable Trust, each supporting one local child for 12-months. We have your gift aside for you for next time you come in store.

About the trust

This year, we are honoured to support the Reid O'Leary Charitable Trust as a business. This amazing local charity is close to our hearts as it is the work of our beautiful dispensary technician, Karen, and her family and friends, after they lost their son to suicide.

The trust focuses on youth wellbeing by fostering student connection and mental health awareness, specifically through the R.E.I.D. Wellbeing Program. The program is now in 28 schools across Hawkes Bay, providing digital tools to identify and respond to early signs of mental distress among students.

$6 a year allows a child to access the app to help them reflect on their emotions and seek support when needed. 

The fundraising promotion runs from 1st to 30th June, 2026.
